“As a Brit who lives in a country that isn’t quite as collectively religious as the USA, I find it ridiculous that such things as religion are taken into account on such an issue as this. We do have our own fair share of bs still though. No doubt. Who is any one person to tell another person that they should or shouldn’t go through with their pregnancy/abortion, especially when it is at an early stage, or in such terrible situations where a woman may have been raped whatnot? In such instances, it is at the discretion of the person who is having the child. Not some random, busy body stranger, and nor should there be any asinine laws and rules that make it illegal to do so either. In my book, that’s an infringement upon a person’s right to choose to do with their body as they see fit.

Surely, it’d be much wiser for governments and professional people like doctors and teachers, and also parents themselves, to educate young people before they are at an age of sexual activity/who may be at an age where they could sexually active by advocating the benefits of contraception and safe sex, thus preventing any unwanted pregnancies before the occur, not to mention such legislation would save the tax payer tons of cash too. But then we all know that condoms are frowned upon by those in faith, and that people in big business are profiteering from such things too. So, it’s a case of choose your deluded poison there.

I am afraid that until there is a time when religion is not a defining factor in the politics of people getting elected, legislation getting passed through or politics full stop, then we as a human race are all destined to be affronted by people who have illogical standpoints and agendas on such issues as abortion, and much more besides.”
